Brunch "As-you-like-it" casserole (egg)

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 slices bread, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Additions
  • 1 sliced tomato
  • 1 cup cubed jennie-o turkey sausage
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 13 x 9 inch casserole dish

METHOD

1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Beat the eggs in a large bowl. Mix in the milk and cheese. Add the bread and carefully stir until all pieces of bread are moistened (don't over mix or the bread may disintegrate). Add additions. Add salt and pepper to taste (if using Italian sausage, you won't need either.) Butter a 13 x 9 inch casserole dish. Pour mix into casserole dish.
2 Bake in oven for 50 minutes to an hour, until the top is browned and
the center springs back when touched. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Serves 8.
...this is in the oven. Looking good.

Dinner tonight...Easy Black Beans and Rice Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 16-ounce cans of black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 Tbsp white vinegar
  • A dashes of Tabasco
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano or 1/2 heaping Tbsp chopped fresh oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional Lime wedges and cilantro for garnish

METHOD

1 Cook rice according to package instructions. White rice usually takes 15 minutes to cook once the water is simmering, and 10 minutes to sit.
2 Heat oil in a large skillet on medium high. Sauté onions and bell peppers for 3-4 minutes, until just beginning to soften, then add garlic and sauté a minute more. Add the black beans, vinegar and Tabasco or cayenne. Bring to a boil(?), reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
3 Stir in rice and oregano. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serves 3.

Opera 10.10 improvements...

I've looked at Opera 10.50 and  it is a knockout.
Very clean interface, HTML 5 support, fast, etc.

At home, however, I've fallen back to version
10.10.  In that version Opera web services appear
more stable than prior  and 'speak' is functional
again--isn't on 10.50.
